Dual Membership Option with SC Law Enforcement Officers’ Association (SCLEOA)
Payroll deduction is available if you want to join the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association and the South Carolina Correctional Association. These two different associations are beneficial to those in the corrections profession. The SCLEOA is a registered lobbyist and constantly fights for law enforcement officers. Membership to SCLEOA allows for periodic discounts to sponsored businesses.
Membership to SCCA is $35 and $30 to SCLEOA. Your $3 a pay period covers both. The additional $7 you pay each year with payroll deduction is the handling charge we must pay State Treasurer to have the dues taken out of your payroll check.
SCLEOA Members are eligible to vote, serve on committees, receive an SCLEOA decal sticker, attend and/or participate in association events and activities (provided any requirements for that activity are met), receive line of duty death benefits, receive legal representation upon approval of the Legal Representation Committee, receive special membership discounts and receive such other privileges and benefits as authorized by the Board of Directors. (In the case of Reserve Officers, Constables, or DNR Deputy Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty shall receive in-line-of-duty death benefits.) (In the case of Reserve Officers and Constables, these individuals may receive any legal representation offered by the association if he or she is current with certification and training and is assigned to a department by written request of the Chief or Sheriff and who are under direct supervision of a full-time certified officer.)
